Why EcoCity
Citizens routinely spot overflowing bins, damaged sidewalks, or broken streetlights — but have no simple way to report them. Complaints get lost in phone calls or informal channels, and municipalities have no structured way to track what's actually happening on the ground.

How EcoCity Solves It
EcoCity lets any citizen open the app, snap a photo of the issue, and submit it with their exact location in seconds. The report lands directly on the municipality's dashboard, sorted by location and category, so city services can prioritize and act on real, verified issues.

From Report to Resolution
Citizen Spots an Issue
A resident notices waste, a broken streetlight, or damaged infrastructure and opens the app.
Report With Location
They take a photo, pick a category, and the app automatically attaches the exact GPS location.
Municipality Reviews
The report appears on the city dashboard, plotted on a map and sorted by category and urgency.
Citizen Gets Updated
As the status changes — received, in progress, resolved — the citizen is notified in the app.

How It Was Built
Phase 1
Research & Requirements
Studied how municipal complaint handling worked locally and mapped the gaps a mobile app could close.
Phase 2
App & Database Design
Designed the Flutter UI and the Laravel/MySQL data model for reports, categories, and statuses.
Phase 3
Core Build
Built the citizen-facing app and the municipality dashboard, wired together over a REST API.
Phase 4
Testing & Refinement
Tested the full report-to-resolution flow and refined the geolocation accuracy and UX.
Phase 5
Graduation Defense
Presented EcoCity as my Bachelor's graduation project.
